Rodney V. Smith describes himself as a webseries evangelist and is heavily involved in the webseries movement in Toronto and New York City. He is one of the founding members of the Independent Webseries Creators of Canada (IWCC). Smith grew up in Barbados with an active interest in writing and art. An early encounter with a Canadian producer spurred his interest in film and after immigrating to the USA in 1999, Smith has been actively working in various crew positions on a number of independent projects.</p> <p>Smith has been an active voice in the webseries community, starting with the release of his first webseries DOMINION which was released to critical acclaim in 2011. He subsequently worked on CASTERS, 12 STEPS TO RECOVERY and a number of webseries productions.</p> <p>Smith has most recently released the science-fiction webseries OUT OF TIME on Amazon Prime and is the author of the novel SO YOU MIGHT BE A VAMPIRE and the second book in the series SO YOU USED TO BE HUMAN. Smith has worked as screenwriter, cinematographer, director, editor and visual-effects artist and occasionally production and set design.</p> <p>Smith lists Stephen King, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Anne Rice and Douglas Adams as his biggest literary influences; Edgar Wright, David FIncher, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are among his film influences.</p> <p>IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3522206/

Michael is the owner of High Park Pictures a digital studio that creates online as part of its development process. We produce Motion Pictures, Series & Web Content that entertain audiences across platforms and around the world.</p> <p>This year we have co-produced OUT OF TIME a movie with Rodney V. Smith at Flyin’ Monkey Films. We also have “So You Might Be A Vampire” by Rodney in development and have produced a trailer and WebShort to accompany the Book. At High Park Pictures developing an audience happens first.</p> <p>Prior to High Park Pictures, Michael attended The Canadian Film Centers Media Lab, Michael Evask, co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced the world’s first 3D narrative EEG experience produced at the CFC Media Lab. Since then, Michael has presented The Quetzal, EEG proof of concept to audiences in Canada (Nuit Blanche 2011, nextMEDIA 2011 and others) and abroad at the Story World Conference, where the Quetzal became the magic of transmedia and was being called the future of interactive cinema/gaming.</p> <p>Before entering the Canadian Film Centers Media Lab, Michael spent a decade as owner of Maximum Video a boutique agency and production house where he developed many cutting edge digital campaigns for a number of Canada’s Fortune 500 campaigns based in the digital realm and distributed on multiple platforms. These experiences give Michael the ability to take on any challenge like the Quetzal and with the encouragement of others start development of The Atlantean EEG Project the world’s first Think Story-Game.
